CCSO Bike Ride to Raise Money for United Way, Spring Dell | Community Spirit

This hasn’t been the coldest or snowiest winter on record but even so, warmer weather will be welcomed by folks come March – and what better way to celebrate a newly sprung spring than by participating in the Charles County Sheriff’s Office’s Third Annual Bike Ride for the United Way of Charles County and the Spring Dell Center, Inc.?

The ride will take place March 24 on the Charles County Hiker-Biker Trail. Registration opens at 9 a.m. at the Village Green Pavilion located at 100 Walter Thomas Road in Indian Head and the ride begins at 10 a.m. Participants can choose to ride all or part of the 26-mile trail. The fees, which help raise money for United Way and the Spring Dell Center, are $25 for individual riders, $40 for families of two, $50 for families of three, and $15 for each member of a family of four or more. The ride is suitable for all experience levels from recreational riders to competitive cyclists. All riders must wear helmets. Participants will receive a commemorative sports bottle, lunch provided by the Town of Indian Head staff, and water at stations along the trail manned by United Way and Spring Dell volunteers.

Participants may pre-register. The registration form is available at the CCSO’s website, www.ccso.us. In the event of inclement weather, the ride will be held March 31.
